Founder Spreadsheets

What this page is for: eight free workbooks with live formulas, sent to your inbox. Next step: all twenty one free tools →

Eight workbooks for the parts of running a store that live in a spreadsheet whether you planned it or not. Every one carries live formulas, so you fill the tinted cells and the sheet does the rest. No macros, nothing to enable, and they open in Excel, Numbers and Google Sheets alike.

These are calculators, not templates. A blank grid with nice headings is a chore dressed up as a gift. Every workbook here computes something you would otherwise work out by hand or, more likely, never work out at all.

Runway and Burn

Cash, costs by line and revenue on one tab. It returns net burn, months of runway, a twelve month cash projection with growth, and the first month the balance goes below zero.

Before any decision that adds a monthly cost.

The Weekly Ops Scorecard

Six numbers every Friday. It works out average order value, conversion, blended return on ad spend, refund rate and revenue per founder hour, and charts twelve weeks of it.

Every Friday, in the ten minutes before you close the laptop.

The DTC Monthly P and L

Twelve months across, with the cost lines a store actually has. It separates gross profit from contribution profit from operating profit, because the middle one is the one that tells you whether growth helps.

Once a month, when the statements land.

Pricing and Discount Damage

The floor below which you lose money, the price at your target margin, and a table showing the extra volume every discount level demands just to stand still.

Before you agree to a discount.

The Inventory Reorder Planner

One row per product. It returns days of cover, the reorder point from your own lead time, days until you must order, and marks the ones that are already late in red.

Every Monday, before the supplier email.

The Founder Hours Audit

Log one honest week. It splits your hours into building, selling, keeping alive, admin and firefighting, then prices the hours somebody else could have carried.

Once a quarter, and before you decide you need a hire.

The Promo and Content Calendar

Twelve weeks of promotions and launches with a flag column that calls out a promotion with no email behind it and a launch week with no QA.

Before you promise anyone a launch date.

The deal on these files

The workbooks cost an email address. The 21 tools in the library are free to use with no account and no address, because the answer appears on your screen. A file is different: we send it to your inbox so it is not lost in a downloads folder, and it is the only thing on this site that asks you for anything. We keep your name, company and email for twelve months so we can reply, then delete them. See Privacy.

They are yours. Change them, rename them, hand them to your accountant, put your own logo on them. There is no licence to read and nothing phones home. They contain no links back to us that you cannot delete.

They are not accounting software. They are the sheet you build at eleven at night when a decision will not wait, done properly once so you do not build it badly six times.

And if a sheet tells you the week is the problem

What happens after you send it
  1. One email. You describe the work that is not getting done. We tell you honestly whether this is a fit. If it is not, we say so in the reply and you get your afternoon back.
  2. A written scope. One page. The tools, the hours, the specific outcomes the operator owns, and who they report to. Nothing starts until you have read it and agreed.
  3. We assign your operator. Screened against your written scope, with a short written summary of what they have run before and where they are weaker.
